OK. We know. THIS is the moment you have all been waiting for. We are happy to announce that at precisely:
12:00 PM USA Central Time on January 15, 2011, the soft launch of tagvillage will commence.
Several critical decisions have been made over the past few weeks. These decisions involved software priorities, development resources, membership experience, purpose of the site, company mission, and the input (majority vote) of the members with regard to the survey on the site. We have put a lot of time and energy into the future plans for tagvillage and have determined the following governing system for soft-launch through Beta:
  1. Site will grow toward completion in stages
  2. Membership earnings are first priority
  3. Membership growth is second priority
  4. Social network and enhanced membership experience is third priority
  5. Search engine implementation is fourth priority
  6. Cause platform is fifth priority
  7. Tagvertiser platform is sixth priority
Please note, the order of priorities does not mean one item is more important than another, it simply means each item is required to be developed and implemented before the next item can be fully developed. So, to accomplish the task of getting us from Pre-Launch Registration to Soft Launch to Beta Stage to fully functional Live site, we will implement the following in this order:
  1. Registration System (functional now)
  2. Manual Funding System (functional now)
  3. Referral System (functional now)
  4. Weekly Profit Sharing (partial functional now)

Upon completion of these stages, the site will be considered completely live and functional. At this point we will continue to enhance the member experience, add features, add social site integrations, and generally improve the site.
So what can I expect on January 15th?
First, you will notice a new design and layout for the site. This will not be the final version, but will be moving toward the final version. Then you will notice Tag Trading is live. You will be able to fund your account (manually until January 20th) and buy/sell Tags. You will also notice a new Activity Point system that is tracking activity. The site will keep much of the Pre-Launch features. We will keep the VillageTalk forum in place and the News Room.
The results of the survey overwhelmingly showed us that our members DID NOT want us to close registration or funding during the Soft Launch. So, you will still be able to refer members and fund your accounts during Soft Launch and through the Beta stages.
We hope you are ready to trade Tags! Get your lists ready. The platform will be here at noon (US Central Time) on Saturday.



 

Platform Migration and Apology for Delays

We migrated the entire pre-launch platform from an “alpha” stage server to a more robust server last night. Several key team members pulled an “all nighter” to make the migration seamless and glitch-free. We did have to take the site down for 30 minutes at 6:00 AM CST this morning to complete the migration. So, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience.
It is our mission to manage this site with as close to Zero down-time and as few lags and drains on the system as possible. We have world-class developers and sys-admins here which should be evident by the fact that tagvillage completely moved from one physical location (and root IP address) to another without anyone even noticing (or commenting). That even impressed our team!
The site is now on a “beta” phase server so we can watch the stress-levels and monitor the software. This is one step closer to the launch and will help us a HUGE bit when we get ready to migrate to the “Live” stage server clouds.
We apologize for the delay in activating memberships and processing payments. Due to the migration, there were some critical processes that had to be handled before we could resume normal operations. If anyone experienced unbearable wait time, please accept our sincere apology. We are striving to offer the best customer support ever before from a company of this nature.
We do want to congratulate the team! They successfully pulled off a “test phase” migration without any hiccups. The software, files, and IP routing transferred seamlessly and we didn’t even lose 1 bit (literally) of data. This is extremely impressive and telling of the talent here. Our experience tells us that many sites are down for hours when they perform a migration as massive as the one our guys pulled off last night without anyone noticing.
This successful excersise tells us 2 very important things. Our team has planned the migration of the site, files, database, and IP routing perfectly and is prepared to perform the Launch Migration when the time is right. Also, our guys look pretty funny and have really bad breath after 24-30 hours of non-stop sys-admin tasks and gallons of coffee!
Here’s to an incredibly successful project last night that nobody even noticed. And THAT is a GREAT THING!

We are getting very close to the soft launch. It will begin sometime in the first part of January. One of the steps to the soft launch will be to migrate the members of the pre-launch to the official site and official database. This will be quite a task on our end. And, it includes the implementation of some very powerful anti-fraud and anti-scam tools.
If you are currently a member, it is IMPERATIVE that you make sure your Name, Email Address, and Country is accurate in our system. Please login and make sure this information is correct. We are shortly to begin a migration process that REQUIRES this information be correct. If this information is not correct, your account WILL NOT TRANSFER.
If you have referrals, please get this information out to them. Their accounts WILL NOT TRANSFER either if their Name, Email Address, and Country are not accurate in our system.

We got the official report from the software development team this morning. They are getting close, but not close enough to launch tomorrow. We were pretty much expecting that. The accounting software has been completely rewritten. Now they are tying it together with the Tag Trading platform. They said we need to expect 3-5 days to complete that process. Then, they asked for a few days of testing and implementation of code on the live servers. In addition to that, we need to migrate the pre-launch membership to the live launch platform. That will take time too.
So, the best estimate is that we will launch the site between 5 and 15 days from today. There is really no way to know the exact time because there are so many variables. However, they are very confident that the bugs are fixed, the accounting software is working correctly, and the Tag Trading is functioning. It is just a matter of tying it all together now and bringing it live on the servers.

We understand the inconvenience the programming issues have caused for many of our members. We know you are ready to start Tag Trading. We too are waiting in energized anticipation for the launch. However, we must trust our world-class programmers and their experience. They say it needs a few more days to be perfect, and perfect is necessary when interacting with Facebook and other platforms. So, we will give them the time they need.
So what does this mean for all of you who have already funded? Good question. And we think you are going to like the answer!
Until we get the site launched, you are going to be making money! Here is the plan for the next several days:
  1. We will continue to pay 5 Credits per funded referral. These Credits will be deposited into your account every Monday.
  2. We will continue to give 1 Profit Share Point per referral (even if they do not fund) and pay Profit Share Credits for these points every Monday.
  3. EARLY BIRD BONUS: every member who funded their account before the 15th of December is going to get a nice Early Bird Bonus on New Years Day. These were the original members and they deserve something nice for waiting on us so long.
  4. PRE-LAUNCH LOYALTY BONUS: since we know you are waiting on us, and to put some fire under our behinds to get the site launched, we are going to give every funded member a daily Loyalty Bonus. YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT! Every single day, until we get the site launched, we will give every funded member a bonus. These Credits will be deposited into your account every Monday.
